UCI KIA Project Updated
About 3 years ago E-Novative completed a complex project for UCI Advanced Power and Energy Program together with KIA Motors and Air Quality Management District. This system is designed to pull batter charging information from a fleet of vehicles used by UCI in a power management experiment. Collecting data from these vehicles, a database of use information is helping to design charging station optimization.
Last year, KIA changed their API protocol, and provided UCI with this new information. Unfortunately, the specification document did not explain the handshake protocol changes. E-Novative painstakingly recreated the protocols in an effort to get the data polling and collection program back into operation. Through tennacity, Mr. Grossman was able to program and document the new handshake protocols and get the application working again.
